For patients

Do I need a referral to see Dr Banks?

Yes. All new patients need a current referral from a GP or specialist, addressed to Dr Catherine Banks at MY-ENT. A valid referral is also required for Medicare rebates to apply.

How do I make an appointment?

Telephone the MY-ENT rooms on +61 2 9247 1762 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm) or submit an appointment request through my-ent.com.au. Reception will confirm your appointment and let you know what to expect.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Your referral letter, Medicare card, any imaging you have had (CT, MRI or X-ray — bring the films or access details), a list of current medications, and any letters from previous specialists.

Does Dr Banks treat children?

Yes. Paediatric ENT is one of Dr Banks's subspecialties. She holds a public appointment at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, and sees children both privately through MY-ENT and publicly through the hospital.

Can I be seen as a public patient?

Yes. Children can be referred through Sydney Children's Hospital outpatient pathways, and adults through Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick. Public clinic waiting times are set by the hospital's triage process rather than by Dr Banks's rooms.

Where does Dr Banks operate?

Sydney Children's Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick (public); Prince of Wales Private Hospital, Randwick and St Luke's Private Hospital, Potts Point (private).

What are the consultation fees?

MY-ENT is a private practice and does not bulk bill. Medicare rebates apply with a valid referral, and private health insurance may assist with hospital costs for procedures (though generally not outpatient consultations). Please contact the rooms for a personalised quote before your visit.

I have had surgery and I am worried — what should I do?

For non-urgent concerns during business hours, call the rooms on +61 2 9247 1762. For significant bleeding, difficulty breathing or severe pain, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department. Detailed pre- and post-operative guidance is available on the MY-ENT patient information pages.

For referrers

How do I refer a patient to Dr Banks?
